With A Purpose & Goal

Today I will be going over a really helpful and simple strategy that will allow you to make the most out of all situations and opportunities. This strategy won't cost you anything and you don't need to memorize some formula or try to understand some tricky concept. The hardest thing about this strategy is reminding yourself to use it. Kind of like when you have avocados and you finish your meal then realize you had avocados and the meal would have gone perfect with the avocado. I don't know whether or not that made sense to you(it probably will after you have read the entire article) but the point I am trying to make here, is that this strategy is very simple and it can be used by anyone.
Okay, so what is this strategy? Well before I tell you about it, I need to very briefly, tell you how and why it works. Don't try this, simply imagine it. Imagine waking up in a very dark forest. How would you move? What would be going on in your head? The basic answer to both of these questions, is confusion, apathy and maybe chaos. In other words, nothing really, at least nothing very useful, healthy, or productive. In the presence of uncertainty, the individual is very limited, he or she will usually succumb or just give up. Now, maybe in all this chaos you develop the following goal or purpose, "how do I get out of here safely?" Well, now you've added some certainty to your environment. You have increased certainty and so you have decreased confusion. Now your chances of surviving in this forest look a lot better. What I am coming down towards, is that when you have uncertainty in your environment, you panic and then fail or you succumb and then fail. Uncertainty=Failure. So this finally brings us to the strategy!
I may have given the strategy away in the last paragraph but that is okay. Here it goes, approach all tasks and situations with a clear purpose and a set target. What does this mean??? Here is an example, you are going to a Christmas party that your friend or coworker invited you to. Just going to the Christmas party isn't what you want to do. I mean, you can do this, you'll have some fun, but you won't really make the most out of this situation/opportunity. Just showing up to a baseball game is not the same as showing up as the pitcher. One has a role, a game to play, and a target, the other has uncertainty and confusion. Back to the example, you're on your way to this party but instead of just showing up, you have set a target of meeting 10 new people, exchanging information, and looking for the most successful person at this party. Okay, so this is a huge difference. The second example has purpose; you're doing this to grow and be more successful. And you have some targets, you want to meet 10 people and find the most successful person there. IM GETTING EXCITED JUST WRITING ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW HAHA! (Back to the article) So, you can see how the second example works so much better than the first. You had a game to play and you enjoyed the party. Even if you didn't meet your target, you most definitely did more than someone who just went to that party because they were invited.
Next time you go to any event, or do anything in life really, go in with a target and a purpose. No matter how small! Go in with a target and a purpose.
Also, this might be magical, I can't tell you that it is for sure but it might be. Quick story. I went to a Grant Cardone seminar last year. I wasn't really going for the information; don't get me wrong I love his content. I was going because I wanted to meet him and get a picture with him. That was my target. Kid you not, as we are leaving the seminar, my sister and I see Grant and Elena walking out of a secret door into the elevator. I ran, and asked for a picture and got a picture with both of them . I thought I would mention this to maybe motivate you to start implementing this amazing strategy into your life! Much love! Be Great!
