Read/Learn Daily!

For the past 2 years I have dedicated a couple hours a day to my self-improvement. This includes things like videos, audio books, seminars, podcasts, books, documentaries, and so forth. However, until recently, I had never really dedicated a set amount of time each day to my self-improvement. Don't get me wrong, I would dedicate a lot of time, to all those things, during those 2 years. But I never had a schedule for them, a plan for when I was going to do them(and I now know that this wasn't the best strategy, even though it worked pretty well). So why am I talking about this? Look, if something is worth doing, if it's helpful to you and your dreams, then you shouldn't just do it, you should do it daily and you should have a set time on your calendar for it! So in this article I will go over a couple tips on how to accomplish this and also a few reasons why you must!

Okay, so first, with the reasons why.

1. It will save you from a lot of failure and setbacks. Of course, failure is inevitable but if it's possible to avoid a setback then you should do whatever it takes to avoid it. If it cost you $25 and a couple hours to learn something from a book that made you $500k, then the cost of not owning the book wouldn't be an extra $25 in your bank account and a few hours to your life, it would be negative $500k if you didn't get the book. Do you see how that works? The book prepared you for the opportunity, and because you were prepared, you didn't fail. What cost more, $25 or losing $500k??? Okay, now think of a time where you failed miserably, whatever it was, a test, a job, a relationship, anything. Now ask yourself, if I would have read a book about how to be a better worker, or how to be a better partner, could things have gone better for you? Probably. And even if they didn't you would've still been ahead of the game and came across and conquered the next opportunity. Look the point I'm trying to make here is you don't have to fail as much as you think you do, there are a lot of books out there that can teach you about areas of life you want to excel in or be better in.

2. It will allow you to make faster decisions. Besides saving you from many failures. Reading and learning daily will gain you tremendous confidence. When you know how to do something or how something works, you don't do it slowly, you do it quick and effectively because you're confident about the outcome. Think about a time where you were driving somewhere you've never been to, chances are, you drove slower than you usually do. Now think about your drives home, these are usually a lot faster, because you're confident and you're confident because you know where you're going, what you are doing. Here's another example. You take a course or read a book on how to choose your friends. Now that you know all that data, you can spot the bad friends and get them out of your life. And you can do this quickly because you already know what characterizes a bad person and how people with those characteristics treat others! If you wouldn't have taken the course, you would've had to go through some big conflict with that person and then you would've spent days figuring out how you were gonna tell this person that you didn't want them in your life anymore. Better you do it ASAP. It was gonna happen sooner or later, a bad person cannot keep good friends. Learning new things daily can help straighten your life out sooner rather than later.

3. It will give you an advantage in the marketplace and in life! The average American reads 1 book a year. The average millionaire reads 50 books in a year. Could you imagine having a 50/1 advantage in the marketplace????? Read more books and learn more!

4. It builds discipline. Doing it everyday doesn't just help you learn more information in a shorter period of time. Doing something that is good for you on a regular basis builds tremendous discipline and this discipline will help you in other areas of life.

Now for the Tips

1. Read early in the morning. There's something about the peacefulness in the morning that makes things easer to absorb, especially when it's a book or a course, or anything like that.

2. Take notes. Remember, you're studying to learn, not just to waste time.

3. Make things interesting. I like having a candle by me and my diffuser, i don't know why these things motivate me to study, but they do. I guess it adds to the peaceful nature of the morning.

4. I would also recommend doing your studying on a desk, not a bed or a couch. Reason being, you will most likely fall asleep.

Look there are many opportunities in the world, new ones every day, for every person, and the more you learn and prepare the more of these you can pick up for yourself and your dreams!
