The Fear To Be Yourself

Today I want to talk about being yourself on social media. Why would I be doing this? What does this have to do with your dreams or greatness. Well, being yourself more often than not allow you to bring your dreams to life. After all, they are your dreams, so how could being someone else make your dreams come true? Furthermore, when you're trying to be other people or please the masses, you aren't really anyone because you're trying to be some non-existent being and you aren't really producing anything because no one is there to produce it.

"I would rather be true to myself, then please or be a thousand people. To be everyone is to be no one" -Enrique the Great

Social Media was created for sharing and creating content. Even though each medium has its rules or ideas of what should be posted and so forth, the decision is ultimately up to us. I'm writing this article because most of us adopt what others claim to be the norm. In other words, most of us don't even post on social media. We just upload content that we think other people will like. You can see how that can become a downward spiral. There's a lack of purpose and there's great contradiction. These platforms are for creating and most people aren't creating because they aren't being themselves.

I don't go off of likes anymore. I used to, I don't know why, actually I do, because we were told that it was the most important thing! What I am going to go over next is your purpose for using social media. You need a purpose. Most of us don't have a purpose and thats why most of us adopted all the lies that the masses disseminated. If you don't know what to do with a hammer then you're just going to copy what the person next to you might be doing and sooner or later you will destroy something or hurt yourself because there was no purpose. The point I'm trying to make here is that you need a purpose for social media. Why are you using it. Why are you on it. Why are you creating/sharing what you are sharing? You need these questions answered. If you don't answer them then social media will continue to use you when you should be the one using it.

Very briefly, I will share why I use social media. This way you can get an idea of what I mean by all of this. I use social media primarily for one reason.

1. Help people

The main reason I use social media is to help people. So when I finish a video and I don't like how I come out(most videos) I still post it because the purpose is there(HELP). I can post bad videos or pictures of myself because I'm not on social media to look perfect. This is why purpose is critical and it has to be an ethical and meaningful one. If your purpose it to be perfect, you will have a very hard time with social media and it will eventually use you, you won't be using it.
