Do Diets Work?
Share
Okay so I'm not a nutritionist or a health expert, i'm not going to try and school you on the things you should eat and shouldn't eat in this article. Today I am going to go over why diets almost never work? And not just diets, any kind of activity who's purpose is to make your life better. We all now that diets are famous for getting people into shape, but they are also famous for their success rate(very low). But I don't want you to think that this is all about diets it isn't. Any area of your life that you are trying to improve and then fail at doing so, is what i'm talking about. So let's start with why you failed.
I don't know what you tell yourself when you fail something but for most people, it goes something life this. "You can't do it!" "It's impossible!" "It didn't work!" And so forth. Well, none of these things are true, even if they may seem true. The reason you recoil anytime you reach toward something thats good for you is because you have something holding you back. This is why these diets or ventures never work. Because they try and add the good stuff without really removing the bad stuff. For example, removing the hot cheetos isn't really removing the bad stuff. If you have a problem with eating too much food that is bad for your body, you have a responsibility and ethics problem. It is very irresponsible and unethical to be unhealthy. You become a liability to yourself and if you are a liability to yourself, you will be a liability to others. How is that ethical? The more unhealthy I am, the more trips I am going to have to make to the hospital. Let us say I don't have a car, well now I have to take my siblings time or mothers time to get to my appointments. Thats just one example, but you get the idea. So the next time you fail at some diet or new venture, keep this in mind. There may be something holding you back. And it's not always you by the way, it could be a coworker, a best friend, it can be a lot fo things.
Okay so there are also things that don't work. I just wanted to quickly address that because I know not every diet will work. The point I am trying to get out with this article is that most of the time its not the diet, its you. And it may also be something or someone in your environment. You need to figure this out because any step you take in the right direction will require you to let go of something and a lot of the times we forget that or we let go of the wrong thing(like the cheetos).
Be great I believe in you.
